Sunset Dragons are a species of sapient bipedal dragons. They are omnivorous and evolved from quadrupedal arboreal gliding dragons. The proto-Sunset Dragons' most notable feature was their prominent throat sac, which contained paralytic venom that could be spit at prey in a way similar to that of a cobra. As Sunset dragons evolved to become bipedal, the throat sac moved down to the chest. Because of this, all Sunset Dragons have big beautiful naturals. They're often mistaken for mammaries, but do not have nipples and are not sensitive. And they can still spit venom, so watch out!

Sunset Dragons are named for their colorful plumage. Their wings are feathered, and most of them have a ridge of feathers going down their spine to the tip of their tail. They often will have additional clusters of feathers on their bodies, primarily on their shoulders and other joints. Most Sunset Dragons have feathers that are a mix of reds, oranges, and yellows. Their scales can be a variety of colors, but most are cool blues, greens, and purples. Their blood is copper-colored. The wings of Sunset Dragons are too small to allow them to fly. They have digitigrade legs with prominent talons, holdovers from their tree-climbing ancestors. Their claws are usually a darker colorthan their scales. They have slitted eyes with good night vision, but the drawback is that most of them are nearsighted. Sunset Dragons have a lot of variation in body type and physical ability.

DID YOU KNOW? Sunset dragons may appear to have hair on their heads like mammals, but it's actually a form of specialized scales that grows and looks exactly like hair because that's easier to draw! Did you know scales and hair are both made of keratin? Now you do!

And without further ado, here's the comic that I drew in November 2020 (before Ruth had her own name!) featuring Bink asking why dragons have tits. Enjoy!
