this is a collection of various OCs that other people made but I still had a hand in designing.
Eddie Kirkbride was created for the Team Manager Mode of FIFA 2021. Little did my wife and I know that from her would come a legacy spanning generations. We got absurdly attached to this player-avatar character who led her team to dominate the league and destroy all rivals. We spent hours and hours coming up with extensive lore for her and her ancestors and descendants.
Eddie Kirkbride was born in Scotland in 1971. Her mother moved there from India in 1965 to train equestrian horses and met Eddie's dad, a farrier. Edwina "Eddie" Kirkbride grew up loving football and spent her youth following the local clubs with obsessive interest. She worked her way through the ranks of club administration until she finally landed her dream job, club manager for Dundee United in the 2020-2021 season. Her first move as manager was to end the fan culture of calling themselves "Arabs" and wearing fake turbans. Look it up, that's a real thing that people do! Fucked!! This move was controversial and gained her more than a few critics, who promptly shut up as she began leading her team to absolute league domination. Over her ten-year career, Kirkbride coached 599 games. Of those, she won 461, drew 72, and lost 66. Her teams (including her short stint with the Scottish national team) scored 1620 goals and allowed 620.
Eddie became notorious among fans of football for her tumultuous personal life. An out and proud lesbian, Eddie was well-known for scandalous dalliances with beautiful women across the globe. Before this, however, Eddie had had an actual relationship with an American woman named Rebecca Scott who she had met through an international low-level football tournament. This relationship was the longest of Eddie's life, lasting almost a year and leading to Eddie's unplanned pregnancy. After she had the child, a daughter named Morgan, she left her to be raised by Rebecca in America and returned to Scotland. She paid child support all her life, but rarely did more than a call once a year. She had a similarly distant relationship with her sister, Mildred "Millie" Carter (nee Kirkbride), who moved to America for college and decided to stay and become a Real Housewife. Millie's daughter found fame in the AEW (more precisely, in our copy of AEW Fight Forever's career mode) as The Dragon, a comedy heel beloved by fans for her wild-card ways.
You know her, you love her, it's Hot-Sauce Shepard. A descendant of the Kadava dynasty and Eddie Kirkbride herself, Hot-Sauce is the only reason my wife and I made it through the entire Mass Effect trilogy. I came into this relationship as a longtime Dragon Age fan who had never played Mass Effect, and my wife had played (and gotten mad at) the whole trilogy but had never played Dragon Age. Cultural exchange is important, which is why one day while we were dating we booted up the remastered editions. Hot-Sauce ended up romantically involved with Garrus (as was our design) and best friends with Legion and Wrex. At the end of ME3, when she sacrificed her life to become one with the universe (whatever that means!) she got isekai'd into the world of Baldur's Gate 3. She kicked around as a mercenary for a bit before the brainslug events occurred. Over the course of her journey she ended up falling for Lae'zel, not least because the whole "this is an alien from space" thing was way more normal to her than what most of the other companions had going on. At the end of the adventure, she and Lae'zel hopped on some dragons to go out and explore space, and Hot-Sauce holds out hope that someday she might find Garrus somewhere out there. She's pretty sure she can make it work with both of them.
One of the first strategies I used to woo my wife when we were first dating was to draw her D&D ocs. It clearly worked! Here are some of the girls.
Win and Ara! Ara is Marina's half-orc paladin, and Win is her halfling bard girlfriend in their campaign. Here is the two of them chilling out and looking at the clouds. I did some more doodles here!
Daphne! A chainsmoking badass. She's been one of my wife's OCs for basically forever.
Wendy! Objectively one of the best OCs anyone has ever had in the history of the world. Wendy is a devotee of the Raven Queen who escaped from an abusive necromancer family and met a raven familiar named Vincent. In a modern AU, she would be really into Naruto and her favorite character would be Hinata. Wendy has had such an impact on us that Marina's FFXIV character, a femroe named Brave Raven, isn't her OC, but is the character that Wendy would make if she played FFXIV. This is the power of Wendy.
My friend Wade (of Decaytown and Cold Lands fame) also has a Kingdom Hearts OC whose job is to fill in the holes in the story that exist because that series doesn't respect Namine enough. I think this art is from 2012 or somewhere around there. At some point I went through and designed Reynold a distinct form for every Disney World in the game. They're on paper, though, so I'd need to scan them in. And maybe I will someday!
