Big Boof, Highwind, Lady Madeline
Once the heiress to a noble family in Impiltur, Haniel Asuna was supposedly the first in line to become head of their house. However, the patriarch of the family decreed that due to her sorcerous blood, growing ambition, and wicked thoughts, she would never hold a position of power. Her parents decided that it would be best to send her to a monastery of Lathnander in order for her to gain better command of her powers and to learn to think of others before herself. However, on her way to the monastery, her caravan was attacked by a group of bandits. The family never heard from her or her traveling party ever again.
Many years later, her sibling Emiel became acquainted with the leader of a group of mercenaries known as the Crimson Talons. This woman was known as Andromeda the Crimson, for both her flaming red hair and her blood-stained hands. They recognized each other at once. Emiel was overjoyed to find that their sister was still alive, and Andromeda wasted no time in welcoming Emiel into her life. The Crimson Talons were already a well-respected mercenary group in Trailsend. Andromeda made no secret of her efforts to convince Emiel to leave the Battered Scabbard and join her group. She also made many connections with the nobility of Trailsend, gaining the attention of Nikolai Donlevy and the respect of his lord father, the Baron of Trailsend. When Andromeda and Nikolai announced their engagement, the people were delighted that their beloved lord-to-be had found such an excellent and well-liked match. Surely nothing couold go wrong for such an illustrious couple!
When her caravan was attacked, Andromeda realized that this was her chance to escape the fate of mediocrity that she saw ahead of her. She surrendered to the bandits and convinced their leader to kill the rest of her caravan. She played the role of doe eyed plaything for the bandit leader and waited for an opportunity. That opportunity came in the form of a quiet and terrifying recruit named Vade. Andromeda saw the deadly skill with which he fought, and quickly set about convincing him that to turn on the rest of the bandits. With a small nod of his head it was agreed, and Andromeda slit the bandit leader's throat in his sleep that night. With Vade as her lieutenant Andromeda took control of the bandits and led them through several raids on human and hobgoblin settlements. However, she realized that banditry would never get her closer to the power and prestige that she desired. She knew that in order to get anywhere in life she couldn't linger on the fringes of the law any longer.
By this time she had gathered together an inner circle of allies whose loyalty she trusted absolutely. She met with them to discuss her plans to turn to legitimate forms of mercenary work. She convinced them, but she knew that not everyone in camp would agree or would keep silent about her involvement with them. She turned to Vilexi, an outcast drow priestess, to make a poison to cull the rest of the bandits. The next evening she held a feast and the rest of her men ate their final meal. Her party then collect their scalps and offered them to a nearby city as proof that they had destroyed the bandits. They used the reward for this betrayal to buy a space in Trailsend for their mercenary company. Andromeda chose Damara because of King Dragonsbane's recent search for nobles, seeing it as the easiest way for her to gain a title. It didn't hurt that it was close to Impiltur, granting her easy access to the target of her revenge. Her ultimate goal, and the aim to which all her means ultimately lead, is the destruction and the humiliation of the Asuna house.
Her seduction of Nikolai was a calculated move in this plan. She bore no illusions about Nikolai's love for her, knowing him to be a cold-hearted and ruthless bastard at heart. The two of them plotted to murder the Baron and rule Trailsend together. Andromeda, however, had further plans. She believed herself more than capable of manipulating Nikolai and effectively becoming sole ruler of Trailsend.

Mial was an apprentice at the Blackstaff Tower in Waterdeep but left due to her desire to experiment unhindered with darker kinds of magic. Intelligent and driven, but born into a low-class family in Skullport, she has had to struggle for her place in the world for most of her life. She was rescued from that place when a wizard of the Blackstaff Tower, in disguise, recognized her gifts. She was raised in the tower ever since. When her teachers tried to keep her from necromantic studies she saw it not as a well intentioned attempt to keep her out of danger, but instead as a limit that those in power were placing on her. Mial left the Tower in search of a place to continue her studies without impediment. She journeyed outside of Waterdeep and took up residence in a small village, intending to practice necromancy in secret. However, due to the nature of her experiments, she incurred the wrath of the villagers once they found out she'd been robbing their graves for research material. She was only saved from being burned at the stake by the Crimson Talons happening to pass by the town on the day of her execution. Andromeda saved her, destroying the village in the process, and Mial has clung to her side ever since.
Mial is naturally interested in the dark powers that she witnessed first hand as a child, and as such doesn't understand why people are so afraid of Necromancy. She sees her current party as the only people who have truly accepted her, and as such is incredibly loyal to them and Andromeda in particular. She made fast friends with the members of the Battered Scabbard, who
